This 1915 cigarette card card supposedly describes an incident which occurred during the Battle of Lone Pine between 6 and 9 August 1915. It should be remembered that such wartime images were always of an intensely patriotic nature and almost invariably gave the impression of the greater bravery and fighting ability of one’s own soldiers.
